RENOLIT ALKORPLAN Pool Felt Underlay

RENOLIT ALKORPLAN Pool Felt Underlay

RENOLIT ALKORPLAN Pool Felt Underlay

Everything you need to know about the original blue pool geotextile!

Pool felt underlay, also known as pool geotextile is a technical term that we frequently use when talking about pool lining or pool refurbishment. But what is it exactly? What are the advantages of using a pool felt underlay in combination with RENOLIT ALKORPLAN onsite lining?

What are the advantages of RENOLIT ALKORPLAN Pool Felt Underlay?

This pool felt underlay is a blue non-woven fabric which has undergone a fungicide treatment. This felt is installed directly on the walls and the bottom of the pool before the on-site lining takes place. It’s made of  400 g polypropylene fibres with fungicide treatment, which avoids the proliferation of fungi and algae. Apart from this, natural antibacteria addivites made of metal ions take care of an ongoing antibacterial effect.

True beauty is inside

Even though the pool felt underlay is only visible during the installation of the pool liner because this last one covers it completely, pools are equipped with this non-woven fabric. It’s important to install geotextile fabric when on-site lining is carried out.

In case of butt welding, installing pool felt underlay is unavoidable. Even if one of its main purposes is to avoid stain formation thanks to its fungicide treatment, using RENOLIT ALKORPLAN geotextile has also an aesthetic purpose. The result is a completely smooth surface because the felt underlay levels any small irregularities of the ground out.

Much more comfortable feel for bathers

Taking into account that we go swimming barefoot, we shouldn’t forget our feet. Why not to give your feet a treat? RENOLIT ALKORPLAN Geotextile makes the bathers steps more comfortable.

Keep the cold away

As soon as it gets warm we want our pool water temperature to be perfect, that’s to say: not too warm, not too cold. Thanks to the 400 g densitiy of the pool felt underlay, it functions as an insulating material and stores heat for a longer period of time, whereby up to 2 ºC more can be reached.

Does your pool need refurbishment? Would like to build a pool in your garden? Do not forget to ask for the unique antibacterial pool felt underlay: the only light blue one labelled with the trademark RENOLIT ALKORPLAN. It will upgrade your swimming pool in many aspects.

Do you know a RENOLIT ALKPORPLAN approved installer? If not, please contact us and we’ll help you find one in your area.

How to clean the pool after winter

How to clean the pool after winter

How to clean the pool after winter

Spring has finally arrived ! Days start getting longer and temperatures are more pleasant. Warm weather will soon be here.

We look forward to buying sunscreen and to looking for our swimmsuit in the wardrobe. The first thing that we have to do before we can go bathing is to clean the pool after winter. We have to start thinking about getting our pool ready for summer when the outdoor temperature is about 20°C (68 °F).

Another hint for timing the spring cleaning of your pool is when the water temperature is around 12°C (54 °F).  It depends on how sensitive to cold you are, but generally speaking, it’s then that it’s time to get the pool in operation again.

In case you don’t have time or you just don’t feel like doing it on your own, you can always commission a pool professional to clean the pool after winter. Pool professionals are either pool builders or gardeners with knowledge of swimming pools. Otherwise simply ask at your swimming pool supply store where you buy the pool chemicals and accessories. The last mentioned can clean your pool after winter for you or just give you some advice on how to do it because it’s quite easy.

When is my pool ready for swimming?

As aforementioned it’s time to get your pool ready for swimming when water reaches 12 °C (54 °F).

The pool needs to be prepared for winter when the water temperature is below 12 °C (54 °F). And at all events before freezing weather starts. The main steps are lowering the water level in the pool and shocking the pool with chlorine (chlorine level up to 0.8 mg/l). The filter system should run as long as possible. Afterwards remove the equipment from the pool and keep it in a dry place. Finally cover the pool with a winter cover.

If you prepared your pool for the hibernation correctly, then you’ll have to work less in spring in order to get it ready for summer.

You shouldn’t use your swimming pool during the hibernation. Even if the water level is below the skimmer level, the water quality isn’t safe for swimming. Never empty your pool during winter because it will prevent the foundation from getting damaged. Apart from this, water will protect your RENOLIT ALKORPLAN pool lining.

Steps to clean the pool after winter

1. Remove the winter cover

First of all remove the winter cover. Clean it by using a garden hose, let it dry and store it away in a dry place until the swim season is over. If you didn’t use a cover during winter, then the water will definitely be very dirty and you’ll have to clean the waterline properly.

2. Assemble the pool enclosure or pool blind

If you have a pool enclosure or a pool blind, now it’s time to clean it and to assemble it.

3. Completely drain the pool

This question always throws up controversy because many pool owners replace the pool water every 2 to 3 years. Water is after all a precious resource. Nonetheless, we recommend replacing the pool water after winter for hygiene and in order to spring-clean the pool liner.

4. Spring-clean the pool

Clean it immediately after draining it so that the dirt on the lining doesn’t get dry. With the aid of a garden hose gently scrub the walls. But not too vigorously, so that the reinforced pool membrane doesn’t get damaged. Lastly, rinse off with clear water.

5. Do not spray any pool algaecide

If any, only without copper. Elevated copper levels in water often cause discoloration on the lining.

6. Inspect the lighting, seals and filter
7. Fill the pool with fresh water

Close the drain valves (not the skimmer ones) and fill the pool with fresh water to the middle of the skimmer opening.

8. Turn the filter pump on

Clean the filter pump and turn it on when the water level has reached the middle of the skimmer.

9. Check the pH level

Check the pH level so that the pool chemicals perform in an optimal way. It should be around 7.2 -7.6. Use pH Minus or Plus to adjust the pH level.

10. Add the pool care products

In case you didn’t replace the pool water completely, it’s advisable to shock the pool to keep your chlorine level up and prevent algae growth.

That was it for „spring-cleaning the pool“. It wasn’t that bad after all, was it? So now your RENOLIT RENOLIT ALKORPLAN pool is ready for the summer. Download the checklist so that you don’t forget any important step before the swimming season starts. We wish you lots of swimming fun!

Pool prices in the internet

Pool prices in the internet

Pool prices in the internet

If you are desperately searching for pool prices in the internet, please be careful!  Do not trust the low prices that some websites announce.

Don’t forget that you will have to live with your pool for many years, many summers, many kids’ birthday parties and many family barbecues… So it’s a good idea to think long-term. Cheap pools are not a good investment. It’s better to rethink your budget and get the gorgeous pool you always dreamt about. Fair pool prices are arguable.

Things you’ll have to consider on your way to your dream pool.

How long does a pool take to build?

No one wants workers hanging around in their house for many weeks. Of course when you decide to build a pool, you want to have it as quick as possible. RENOLIT ALKORPLAN reinforced pool liner needs half the time of installation in comparison with other lining systems. And don’t forget that time is money!

Although we can’t give specific times because it will depend on other elements such as the excavation, plumbing or deck, just to give you a rough idea: a lining renovation of a 10 x 5 m pool takes only 4 days.

How to avoid future unpleasant surprises?

Pool leaks can be very frustrating for home owners and can result in serious damage to the surrounding property. RENOLIT ALKORPLAN guarantees 100% waterproofing for at least 10 years. Our reinforced membrane is made of 2 sheets of PVC-P laminated with a core of a polyester mesh, that provides great strength and durability.

How does the pool care look like?

Just a few basic maintenance steps and your RENOLIT ALKORPLAN pool will be in perfect condition for a long time. Your pool should be a pleasant experience, not a punishment.  We guarantee minimum maintenance.

How can I know what’s best for me?

Building a pool costs a large sum, so why not making it as personal as possible. Personalisation and flexibility should be taken into account when designing your pool. RENOLIT ALKORPLAN reinforced pool liners allow you to personalise your pool as you wish: a wide product range and endless possibilities of combining them.

Lack of inspiration? Check out our catalogue! If you’d like to know who could build you a pool lined with RENOLIT ALKORPLAN in your area, please use the contact form. And once more, when surfing the internet looking for pool prices, don’t let them pull the wool over your eyes!

Differences between reinforced pool liners

Differences between reinforced pool liners

Differences between reinforced pool liners. Not all are the same!

When a product is good there are always copycat businesses coming up. The inevitable happens, but there is no such thing as a free lunch.

That a product looks like another one and that it sells at a lower price doesn’t mean that the quality is the same as the original one. There are indeed differences between reinforced pool liners. RENOLIT always has to deal with copycat businesses, but you shouldn’t let yourself be fooled. All products that take advantage of this successful situation do not have either the technical features characteristic of RENOLIT ALKORPLAN or its quality standards.

That means that once the “mirror” has been installed, it will deteriorate after a while, it will lose its colour and texture and will have to be replaced shortly after. That is without mentioning how annoyed the poor pool owner will be after realising the cheat.

How to detect it?

There are different ways of knowing whether the pool lining that is being installed is RENOLIT ALKORPLAN or not.

  • You get what you pay for. Price normally indicates whether the lining that’s being installed in your pool is good or not. As already pointed out here, there is no such thing as a free lunch.

  • Comparisons are odious. In both our blog and in the shops of our authorised pool builders there are catalogues, pictures and sample books of our real product so that you can touch it. It is good to compare what the installer is offering you with pictures of our product in order to make sure that the reinforced liner we are being offered is the original one.

  • Online presence. In our social media we provide comprehensive information on our product with pictures of pool projects from companies and customers, testimonial videos, tutorials and pieces of advice on RENOLIT ALKORPLAN reinforced membrane. Our online presence and transparency makes the difference in comparison with our competitors.

  • The back. Either if you are an installer or an end customer, when you receive our product please make sure that RENOLIT ALKORPLAN is printed on the back. This guarantees that it is indeed the original product with all its benefits.

Several advantages of our product ranges!

When you choose RENOLIT ALKORPLAN reinforced pool liner you enjoy several benefits.

  • First of all, all our ranges are coated with a protective lacquer which prevents the premature ageing of the liner. They are provided with great durability and thanks to their flexibility they can be installed on any shape or surface. They are durable, strong and beautiful.
  • Top-quality materials: Apart from the advantages of any RENOLIT ALKORPLAN product range, we have to mention that the manufacturing materials are of high quality. Before sending the reinforced pool liner to the installer we check and analyse it in order to guarantee an outstanding quality and 100% watertightness.
  • Guarantee: We look after our customers’ tranquility, so that they just have to care about enjoying their pool. In all our RENOLIT ALKORPLAN product ranges we guarantee and certify watertightness for at least 10 years.  In the case of RENOLIT ALKORPLAN XTREME, we offer 15 years waterproofing guarantee.

The peace of mind you are given when you know the benefits of our reinforced pool liner is priceless. Find out RENOLIT certified installers near you via our contact form. This way you’ll get the original product for your pool refurbishment or for your new pool as well as its correct installation.
